Therapy is not Coaching and Coaching is not Therapy, but what is the difference, how do we decipher which we need and how do you utilize and benefit from each?

Psychotherapy primarily involves delving into and comprehending one's inner world, which subsequently influences life and relationships. Through this process, we confront and unravel core experiences and behavioral patterns rooted in fundamental experiences, meanings, and life perspectives. It centers on the exploration of one's inner landscape, examining how individuals organize their world and process life experiences. In psychotherapy, we seek out recurring themes and patterns that traverse various situations in your life. We strive to comprehend how these themes impact you, often recognizing them as limiting factors. Once these patterns are understood, new avenues of being and relating become viable, marking a journey of inner transformation.

Coaching, on the other hand, emphasizes the external facets of your life. Typically, it revolves around your career, life goals, and your actions in various spheres. It's more outwardly focused, delving into your life choices, aspirations, values, and how you manifest those values in your decisions. Coaching aids in overcoming obstacles and supports the structure of your life to align with your desired vision, especially when you're encountering challenges in realizing that vision.

I enjoy being able to understand the total structure of a person and feel one of my greatest assets is being able to see the entire structure at once while knowing which parts need upgrades, mainainence and which needs to be supported at the structural level. Its a special kind of seeing that allows me to also listen in a very specific and thorough way as I get to know and support you.

There are numerous aspects and dimensions of mental health and related challenges that may not be suitable for a coaching engagement. Issues such as depression, severe anxiety, grief, thought disorders, substance use, trauma, and anger management are among the common concerns for which people typically seek therapy. Understanding how to address these issues requires a specific scope of practice and knowledge that most trained coaches do not possess. If any related content arises during our sessions, I am capable of recognizing signs and symptoms of such issues and exploring them with you. Additionally, I can utilize deeper emotional content to support your coaching goals while ensuring that we remain focused on attainable outcomes without delving into therapeutic territory.

It's akin to being an artist with a vibrant palette of colors, enabling me to craft a truly distinctive and bespoke experience in our journey together.”
